Joint Commission Accreditation
The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 18,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization's commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
InterCare's most recent on-site survey from the Joint Commission occurred in November, 2010. InterCare once again obtained full accreditation status and received a very positive report from the surveyors with few non-compliant findings.
The Joint Commission survey involved a thorough review of InterCare's
- clinical standards
- credentialing process
- employee records
- environment of care
- infection control
- patient care practices
- other organizational elements
The Joint Commission also interviewed Board leadership and discussed their involvement in approving appropriate policies and procedures and ensuring compliance.
In their closing interview, the surveyors complimented InterCare for our level of standards compliance and our focus on high-quality patient care and systems.
