The Campaign for Saving America's Health Centers
Community Health Centers (CHC), like InterCare, are places where community members can go to seek safe and quality health care. Community Health Centers serve all members of the community and will turn no one away. However, CHC programs are facing more real threats today than ever before. Congress has been considering proposals that would reduce federal support for the expansion of CHC's that could severely impact existing health centers. Proposals have also called to change the Medicaid program, which could challenge the financial stability of CHC's. Unfortunately, this could also reduce health center revenues by about half. If certain actions aren't taken, health centers around America could be in jeopardy.
This national campaign, which is supported by NACHC, is aimed at saving CHC's around the nation. While many are still expanding and moving forward in health care, this campaign will work to ensure the bright future of Community Health Centers.
