InterCare Medical Practice Continues Growth

InterCare Community Health Network announces the addition of Dr. Wendy Balivet to its medical practice at 285 James Street in Holland.  Dr. Balivet is the third family practice physician to be welcomed to InterCare's rapidly expanding Holland site since June.  She will now join Dr. Lana Zarlenga, Dr. Odalis Miedema, Dr. Peter Christensen, and Dr. Margaret Gold in service to the community.

Dr. Balivet recently completed a three-year residency in family practice medicine at Genesys Medical Center in Flint, Michigan.  Her family practice residency was followed by six months of general surgery training as well. Dr. Balivet is a graduate of Michigan State University 's College of Human Medicine.  She received her bachelor's degree in occupational health from Boston University prior to attending medical school.  Dr. Balivet is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association and is awaiting certification by the American College of Family Medicine.

InterCare Community Health Network is a non-profit system of primary medical and dental care practices that was founded with the mission of providing open access to needed basic health services.  InterCare is a federally designated community and migrant health center and offers a sliding fee program to eligible families and individuals.  The organization operates facilities at five other locations in west and southwest Michigan, serving approximately 40,000 patients each year. InterCare's hallmark throughout its thirty year history has been its commitment to the underinsured and underserved and its focus on serving families with Medicaid.
