InterCare Community Health Network is pleased to announce that on July 1st Dr. Desmonda Brady, a dual-trained pediatrician and internal medicine physician, joined its Pullman-based practice at 5498 109th Street. In making the announcement, Velma Hendershott, President & CEO of InterCare, welcomed Dr. Bradys arrival as a significant step in achieving the organizations goal of expanding access to primary health care in Allegan Countys most underserved areas.
Dr. Brady received her undergraduate degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed a four-year combined pediatrics/adult medicine residency at Michigan State Universitys Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in June 2002 and served as Chief Resident of the internal medicine/ pediatrics program from then until June 2003. Dr. Brady has traveled extensively internationally, including a three-year stint in the U.S. Peace Corps. Dr. Brady speaks several languages, including Spanish, and helped coordinate weekly rotations for medical students at InterCares Bangor health center during the past four summers. Dr. Brady is a member of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and of the American Society of Internal Medicine.
InterCares Pullman location has been a fixture in that community since 1978, offering a full range of medical, dental, and nutrition (WIC) services. InterCares mission is to provide high quality, comprehensive primary care services to anyone, regardless of insurance or ability to pay. The non-profit organization has five medical and dental sites in southwest Michigan. Patient care is delivered by a bilingual health care team. InterCare also offers a sliding fee program based on family size and income for those whose access to health care is limited for financial reasons. Individuals with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance are also welcome.
InterCares Pullman health center is open five days a week, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, evening hours are also available. Appointments can be made by calling (269) 236-5021.
