Velma Hendershott InterCare Community Health Network is pleased to announce that it was recently named as one of West Michigan's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in 2007 by the Michigan Business and Professional Association. This is the fourth consecutive year that InterCare has received this award. Winners are selected by a panel of judges on criteria including diversity and multi-culturalism, work/life balance, employee compensation and benefits, employee career development, and recruitment/retention. The selection was also based on survey results from InterCare's employees. InterCare Community Health Network is part of America's health care safety net that serves nearly 12 million people across the country each year. As a community and migrant health center, InterCare provides quality, cost-effective health care to populations most at risk. InterCare is a member of the National Association of Community Health Centers and of the Michigan Primary Care Association, working together to achieve expanded access to an outstanding model of high quality health care for those in need. InterCare is a not-for-profit provider of medical, dental, and nutrition (WIC) services that employs over 280 staff members at twelve locations in Allendale, Bangor, Benton Harbor, Eau Claire, Dowagiac, Grand Haven, Holland, Otsego, Paw Paw, Pullman, and Sparta. InterCare's administrative offices are located in Bangor, Michigan. Velma Hendershott, President and Chief Executive Officer, accepted the award on behalf of InterCare employees at a reception held in May.
