Intercare Community Health Network is pleased to announce that Sally Smith, RN, has joined their organization as Health Center Manager for its Benton Harbor site. Ms. Smith is an experienced health care worker having served in a leadership capacity for a community health center serving the medically underserved in New Jersey. The center provided the community there with health promotion, disease prevention and intervention services. Ms. Smith earned her Bachelors Degree in Science from Rutgers University's school of nursing and received her Masters Degree in Divinity from Andrews University. Presently, she is pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Leadership with a concentration in at-risk populations. Ms. Smith most recently directed a domestic violence shelter in the Michiana area and also worked in mental health. Because of a personal tragedy in her life and her concern for what is happening to a large percentage of youth across the country, Ms. Smith founded the International Youth Empowerment Organization.

Ms. Smith considers this opportunity at InterCare a blessing. She is married to Bradley Smith who is retired and formerly an art professor at Temple University's Tyler School of Art. "Benton Harbor is so much like my hometown of Camden, NJ. I readily identify with the people of this community and feel privileged to serve them in such a vital capacity of narrowing health disparities."
