WIC Food Supplies

Foods for Infants (Birth-12 Months)

The WIC Program strongly encourages and provides support for breastfeeding. Infants who are fully breastfed past 6 months of age will receive pureed jarred baby fruits, vegetables, and meats. The fully breastfed infant receives nearly three times the amount of baby foods as infants receiving formula.

Iron-fortified infant formula is also available for the first year of life for babies who are not fully breastfed. Infants may also receive some infant cereal and jarred baby fruits and vegetables starting at six months of age.

Infants and children with specific medical diagnoses may receive a special formula with their pediatrician's signature and proof of need. Standard prescriptions will not be accepted for special formula requests.
