Benefits at InterCare

InterCare offers a generous and complete benefit package to eligible employees, including paid vacation and sick time, paid holidays, medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage, short-term disability, life insurance, 401K, Employee Assistance Program, tuition reimbursement, and more.

We offer eligible employees a variety of benefits to meet your changing needs. Full-time employees working 35 hours per week on a regular basis are eligible for all benefits described below. Part-time employees may be eligible for some of these benefits at a pro-rated value. Benefits are available on the first of the month following 90-days of employment.

Paid Time Off

Vacation Time

Employees receive two weeks vacation time during the first year of employment, which begins accruing from the first day of employment. This amount increases as you earn seniority with InterCare.

Sick Time

Sick time also begins accruing upon hire. Eligible employees receive 6-1/2 days with pay per year for medical appointments and illness absences for you or your family members.

InterCare provides 10 paid holidays per year:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Day before or after Christmas
  • Christmas Day
  • Floating Holiday (to be used anytime during the calendar year)
  • Floating Birthday Holiday (to be used anytime during your birth month)

Insurance

Health Insurance

We offer several healthcare choices from Blue Cross Blue Shield, including three PPO's and the new Flex Blue High Deductible Health Plan with a health savings account (HSA). Health coverage is available the first of the month following 90 days of employment. All plans provide preventative services, including mammograms.

Dental Insurance

Included with the PPO options, covers 100% of your preventative care per year.

Vision Insurance

Included with the PPO options, covers eye exam, glasses, or contact lenses at discounted rates.

Prescription Drug Plan

The cost of this benefit is covered in your PPO health options. Cost is $10 for generic, $20 for brand name, and $40 for non-formulary drugs. Mail-in orders are available for maintenance medications where a 90-day supply is available for two times the usual co-payment amount.

Disability

Short-term disability (STD) insurance is provided at no cost to you. STD provides a portion of your regular pay (60%) after a 14-day elimination period when you miss work due to a certified disability.

Life Insurance & Accidental Death & Dismemberment Coverage

InterCare provides life insurance at the amount of two times your annual salary and at lesser amounts for your spouse and dependent children. Accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage is also provided by InterCare and pays up to four times your annual salary.

Voluntary Products

InterCare offers a variety of supplemental insurance plans to meet your individual needs. These programs are voluntary and you pay the cost for coverage. These include additional life insurance for you and your dependents, critical illness and accident coverage, and long-term disability.

Retirement

401K Plan

InterCare offers a retirement savings plan through Principal Financial to help you prepare for the future. The plan features a number of investment options to meet your particular needs. New employees may begin contributing to their accounts upon hire.

Other Benefits

Tuition Reimbursement

InterCare encourages employees to seek additional education which will benefit you in your employment with us. We provide up to 80% of the cost or $1,500 per year. You may be eligible for this program after one year of employment.

Flexible Spending Plan

The medical spending and dependent care plans provide a pre-tax savings account for your needs. Your pretax dollars are set aside, and repaid to you as you need them.

Employee Assistance Plan

Our EAP offers three free, confidential counseling sessions in a wide variety of areas including: stress and anxiety, mental health, financial, legal, and referral services for you and your family members.

Discount Programs

InterCare offers discounts on several items including computers, cell phones, hotel and rental cars, Sam's Club, and various fitness centers.
